It seems that person doesn't like to see success happen to those who deserve it. It's quite evident in his responses that no matter what you say, he's going to turn it around to make you look like the bad guy. Update: Farenell photography feels bad for me for this image, and does not mind publicly embarrassing me for it. I don’t see why. I never said I was getting published in Vogue. Vogue and Vogue Italia are completely different things. Even if it’s not a publication, it’s still exposure and recognition on an interesting photo. If the logo is “just slapped onto every image that’s uploaded” then why is this my first VI image to be accepted after myself and Carney Malone submitted images for a year? I can’t stand “photographers” who can’t just be happy for people when they are congratulated.

If Farenell took the time to read the thread he linked he would have found Dan K Photography’s quote: “It really isn’t easy to be selected. But this is just for the website. It doesn’t mean that the photo was published in any magazine nor do they pretend it does. ”

And That Italian Guy stated “They reject the majority of images uploaded. ” … “However, as others have pointed out, the (very small) percentage of images that make it through the selection process have been selected by Vogue photo editors and approved for public display on the site. Some are then further selected as “picture of the day” and can go on to be properly published in the print edition of Vogue Italia. Also, as E pointed out, all the images selected become eligible to be represented as stock by Art+Commerce for use by Conde Naste and other publications. That in itself is a worthwhile (if probably not very lucrative) outcome. ”

Escalante said “The Editors do select them and are very particular as to what is chosen. Many are eventually published and Many Many Many others are not. ”

Even when people I hate post images that are god-awful(and trust me… they do.), I never EVER publicly humiliate them for their work, even if it never ended up anywhere. Not only is that extreme unprofessionalism, but it shows character. Obviously he doesn’t really feel bad for me, or else he would have sent a private message instead of reblogging and insulting.

Not that I would have before, but why would I ever work with or recommend him to anyone after pulling that stunt? I’m a no-cost model mentor, a huge part of what I do is pointing other models in the direction of fun, safe, reliable photographers. His business ethics suck.

To be honest, I didn’t even know who this guy was until the photographer who took this shot told me that Farenell has exclaimed to him that he doesn’t like me and that he wasn’t clear about the reason why. So I looked through my old messages and I found that this is the same guy who offered me $30 to drive a total of 6 hours and shoot for 2-3hours. Then was mad because I never TF’d (worked for free) with him in Albany after offering to TF in my town. Knowing that he isn’t serious about models who are trying to make a career out of this, I’m obviously not too upset about what he has to say. He’s apparently been talking shit about me for over a year now, hasn’t effected much
